It's nearly Christmas!! 3 Weeks today!!
Well, it's December now!! And I've just realised that I've forgotten to open my advent calendar this morning!! I'll just have to wait until this evening for that lovely tiny piece of chocolate. Mmmmm!!
Well so far December has been alright I guess. I've not had my car broken into, so already it is beating November! Went to the gym on Friday night (thought I was going to die!), then went out for a curry afterwards (just to finish me off!). On Saturday I played golf, which was tough going as I hadn't played in a while. I really need to practice, practice, practice! I think I'm about ready for some intensive coaching, so I feel a trip to America coming on. I want to drop 10 shots off my handicap in the next 12 months - which is no easy feat!
Yesterday I took a nostalgic trip to Skegness (a famous sea-side resort on the east coast of England for those who aren't in the know!). I went to visit my elderly Aunt, who's birthday it was on Saturday. 91 years young. Actually, it was quite sad to see her all old and frail. Until very recently she has been ultra active and spritely, so it must be very hard for her not to be able to do the things she used to be able to do. The creaking of her knees sounded much like an old creaking chair, and it gave me an insight into what life might be like for me in many years to come, what with my history of knee trouble.In all seriousness, it was hard to see her in such pain, and it makes you think that whilst life might be short, an active life is even shorter! Make the most of every minute of every day!
For now, the active life will have to wait - I'm too busy at work, and it's too cold outside. Plus I'm a little short of funds, thanks to my car desperately needing two new rear tyres (anyone who has witnessed me drifting around the streets, it wasn't an effort to copy the Tokyo Drift film!), and then it needs a service too!! Cars are just so damned expensive to run and maintain! And now the government wants to increase taxes!! What is the world coming to??
